(Varanasi): Nimrat Kaur recently visited the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where she took a holy dip and shared her experience on social media. The actress explained how the concept of the Kumbh snan (ritual bath) was new to her, as she was raised in a Sikh family. She expressed her deep admiration for the festival and its historical and spiritual significance.
In her Instagram post, Nimrat wrote, “Words fail me to describe this experience… as I try to absorb what I have been so blessed to witness. Growing up in a Sikh family, the significance of the Kumbh Mela snan was a fairly new concept for me. This unparalleled historic event made me dive into the mythology and history of this mesmerizing festival. This year, it celebrated the gathering of an ocean of humanity, the largest our eyes will ever see. I am in awe of the immense faith and devotion that has driven people from all walks of life to embark on long journeys just to be part of this momentous occasion.”
She also shared her gratitude for the hard work of the authorities, saying, “I’m deeply grateful for the tireless efforts of the police and local administrations who managed this massive event. Running on just 2-3 hours of sleep for days, they constantly adapted to the ever-changing challenges with immense strength. A special salute to the Ganga Task Force for their exceptional efforts, which made my experience smooth and enjoyable, all while keeping smiles on their faces.”
Nimrat added, “I entered the event with a mix of nervousness, excitement, anticipation, and curiosity, and I return with a renewed sense of awe, inspiration, and pride in our unique culture, history, and the collective faith that binds us on this spiritual journey.”
